2024-04-20 ABKB Alberta Energy v Alberta (Privacy Commissioner)
A group of individuals requested records from Alberta Energy that discussed the change of its 1976 Coal Policy – reportedly to allow coal mining in the Rocky Mountains. The OPIC ordered production of records and disallowed various statutory exceptions claimed by AE – which then applied to the Court for Judicial Review of that decision. The Court refused Judicial review, and confirmed the order for production.
