This case is helpful in employment context. Several employees complained about the Plaintiff – the employer fired the Plaintiff for cause – the Plaintiff sued for wrongful dismissal.
Through the Discovery process, the Plaintiff wanted copies of documents that disclosed the names of employees who complained about him. The Complaints were made within the employer’s whistle-blower policy, that promised anonymity. As well, Privacy Law generally prohibits disclosure of such personal information.
