Do you have a Designated Privacy Professional or Officer in your organization?

Federal law (PIPEDA) requires that companies designate an individual(s) to be accountable for the company’s Privacy compliance. ‘Compliance’ includes Accountability, Consent to collect personal information, Use, Disclosure and Retention of personal information. There are many other aspects to this duty. The company remains responsible for compliance however.


There are 10 Principles for Compliance set out in the legislation. Each Principle is mandatory.
