The EU’s Artificial Intelligence Act is close to becoming law. Political agreement on the draft was achieved in December, 2023. On February 13, 2024, it passed a joint Parliamentary Committee vote. On March 12, 2024, it passed a vote of Parliament. It was proposed to be passed into law in April, 2024. It must now be endorsed by Council by a final reading in plenary, and published into law. This could take some time as Regulations and enforcement need to be worked out.
